VERY Unhappy with service/options on policy

Postby mrtigger » Mon Dec 29, 2014 12:08 pm

Ok so now after 6 long months im happy i've finished work on my quad, originally insured 3rd party at a low value with bikesure. Significant work, parts and time have gone into my bike, increased the value substantially. Exactly as i did with my car aswell (insured under AF for a few years now)

Called bikesure to increase the value, and change to fully comp. Thats when im told they cant change it part way through the policy, sort of understandable i guess BUT also if i cancel current 3rd party policy..............

THEY WILL REFUSE TO OFFER ME A NEW POLICY FULLY COMP.

voiced my concern about this and was told if i left it uninsured or with another company for a month or two they may consider it then. it was referred through the "quotations" department and i was met with "we dont offer it as you could have already had an accident/problem and want to claim".............wow BS(bikesure) not like you cant see the entire life of my quad on this forum!!!!!

Safe to say i may be moving the quad insurance, and also my car insurance from AF aswell after this

Yeah they said due to low premium and half the year gone, I wouldn't see any refund on current policy, fine I'd stomach a 60/70 loss for the comfort of knowing something I enjoy and use daily and spent a lot of time and money on is covered. Making all the more difficult as going to have to scout and hunt for other insurers. Confused.com etc no good as they run thru bikesure

Hi,

Sorry to hear about this.

Could I ask you to send me a quick PM with your details? I can then arrange for this to be looked into.

Kind regards,

Jordan

My own thoughts on Insurance Companies in general are well known but in this case I can only assume that they are using a "Once bit - twice shy!" policy.

Having seen the stupid twats that run "Crash for Cash" scams I almost sympathies with them ....

.... and as a result have a camera mounted on the front of my little motorhome! :icon_thumright:

I hope you can get it all sorted. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

Well had a call and they WOULD have done a 'one off' apparently but because my bike is chained up and alarmed behind a 7 ft coded gate that is permanently blocked by a car.....and not in a garage they won't fully comp anyway.

And very very quiet ones that are steady enough to not set of a twitchy alarm. Really annoys me. Cos it's not in a shed my bike ain't covered if I go to shops etc. I don't leave her anywhere not chained, steering lock on and alarmed

My mate built a shed using the fence panels you can buy from B&Q .... its not the most secure shed in the world as you could imagine ... but it was enough for insurance purposes.
