Hi Everyone. Some advice please

Postby hamilton7 » Wed Sep 13, 2017 11:14 pm

Hi all,

I'm Kyle and new to the forum, nice to meet everyone.

I've been into quads since I used to spin around on my grandad's farm quad many years ago and for the last few months I've been looking for a road legal quad to spend some free time enjoying the roads of Northern Ireland.

My question is can anyone advise me on which quad path to go down. I'm thinking along the lines of a Yamaha YFZ 450/700, but is Yamaha the best road to go down or can someone steer me in the correct direction? The quad will only be used on roads.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

Many thinks in advance

Kyle

Thank you Mick for your reply. would there be any specific reason for a raptor 600 or is it just your favoured quad?

The 450 is fairly highly tuned for racing. The 700 is more suited to road riding and not requiring too much maintenance.

I'm slightly biased. :y2:
Here's a vid that shows you the differences between the 2 quads.
I know it's off-road & there's a lot of other crap on the vid, but any info on the 2 quads could help your decision.

I have a 700 with big 3 and 15t front sprocket. I use mainly roads but some trials and fields. The 700 would probably be the best option for you
