quadzilla 500 xlc

Postby chris4321 » Sat Jul 07, 2018 12:56 pm

Hey Guys,
Im new to the forum, So hello. Could i have some advise please? I have just bought a xlc 500, it has a custom exhaust fitted (sounds so good) it still have factory air filter and i've looked at the carb and it looks like it still has factory jets in. I think it is running lean as the exhaust has gone purple and it seems hot when running!? So my question is, what jets do i need? ( I live at 100 feet sea level) shall i shame the needle? and where can i get an air filter. i'm running this on the road on sunny days so no off road use. it has wheel spacers with wide tyres but does anyone know where i can get a lowering kit for it too. Sorry for all the questions. P.S its an 2008 model.
Thanks guys.

Definitely get the jet done that's gonna do your engine a world of bad. A quick Google will present you with jet, exhaust and filter kits with the filter size listed as for lowering you're looking at the horrid clamp on brackets to relocate the lower end of the shocks, or uprating to shorter shocks

I’m currently running the full scorpion system and I’m running a 150 main jet and it’s spot on. I did have the quadzilla custom exhaust on and ran a 165 on that and it was a bit rich to be honest.i think the standard jet is a 135 for the standard system but I’ll check in my box of spares later to confirm. Have you got a photo of the exhaust and what size is the main jet

I think Dale favoured a 165 jet when he did his air box mod. It would be a good place to start.
