Someone attempted to steal my quad but I believe failed to start her, when I found her dumped in the local brook the ignition had been pulled out and all the wires twisted together attempted hot wire

Started to repair quad oil out, brake fluid out, plugs out, engine and electrical parts all dryed. All electrical parts tested and working ok.
But I can’t get a spark

Have replaced cdi unit, coil packs and battery..
I have tried everything and nothing seams to be wrong but just no spark
Does anyone have anything any ideas what could be wrong?

Have tested stator and pulse and all reading seam within spec..
Does anyone know what voltage I should be getting on turn over for the exciter coil. I’ve measured at cdi plug and getting 36v ac

Can ideas please people and thanks in advance

Can't remember the original switchgear/barrel pinouts now as mines been converted over a year but check the black/white and black wires, they are to do with ignition/kill mechanisms. Also don't they rely on brake for ignition? Check your rear light and footbrake connections.

Good to hear you got it back though is a lot being stolen lately and this is only second one I've heard about being recovered. Funnily enough the other one was also because they couldn't start it and recovered down the road in a field

Thanks for reply

Have found a black wire, which I believe is the kill switch to the cdi unit... goes to double plug on cdi am I right thinking grounding this wire would cut engine?

Have managed to sorted the wiring from brake to ignition cheers
can get engine turning over just no spark

Really thinking it’s down n to voltage out stator, does anyone know what the ac voltage to cdi box should be?

Cheers

Yeah the kill switch is the two separate wires on the cdi. Honestly spark on these things can be a million tiny things they're so damn temperamental sometimes.
